I really subscribe to a theory of knowledge that could be described using some Psych theories on intelligence, or, as I prefer, using one of my favorite Salmon Rushdie books, Haroun and the Sea of Stories. The plot is irrelevant (though it is a great short read and you should go for it!), but essentially, there is an ocean that is the source of all fables. In it the water surges with reds and blues and greens and oranges–on closer look, each is a thread of a tale. Deep under the waves, down on the seafloor, there is a cavernous opening of brilliant white–this is the source of the water, the source of the stories.

White light holds in it red and blue and green and orange and violet and any other color–we may extract from the white to make these threads, whether narrative or theoretical in nature. It is useful to do so, and often fun. We learn much by breaking down essences into categories–thinking as the rock by it's dimensions, like an architect, by it's composition, like a chemist, by it's usage, like a mason. Ultimately the form of things is not any one of our topics. This is a concept I have found in feminist theory (Marilyn Frye) to Litterature (Salman Rushdie) to Psychology (measurement theory) to Theology (Augustine) to Philosophy (Plato). I want to try to push the concept of topic, and to do so, this is the easiest way.

Nah, fuck IQ. Like…it's interesting and useful, but only if we pick it up with chopsticks and look it over with the same scrutiny that we have for that mysterious sushi roll of unknown contents. IQ tests and standardized tests have been kind to me, but I think a lot of that is just that I fit the backgrounds that they tend to advantage.

Do you have any big life questions?
How do you feel about western society?
Do you subscribe to any particular philosophical fields of thought?

I think a lot about the topic of love recently. Like less "I like this girl/boy" and more big picture what is love as a concept and how does it connect everything.
I don't know. Western society is objectively ass in a lot of ways but I'm also at a school where it's just kinda cool and hipster-y to say that and prefer "Eastern" stuff. So I'm also a bit disillusioned with shitting on the west.
I guess I'm kind of a Platonist, but that's really just because I enjoy reading Plato. I definitely disagree with him on a lot of stuff (much more follow Shelley's Apology than Republic Book X when it comes to poetry, for example).

Do you think that Badlion will listen to its community and revert back to the old Glibal system for ArenaPvP and remove ELO decay?

I think that whenever anyone says "listen to the community" red flags raise for me. Everyone talks for the community. Sometimes even when we know the community wants something, we also have to step in and say that it comes from a place of stubbornness, or a lack of information on the topic. Citing these things, for sure, staff teams can go rouge and do whatever the fuck they want and ignore people–I certainly don't want that. But decisions about what is best has to come from a balance–between what the community is vocal for, and what the staff/responsible parties know is coming up ahead, and what can be expected.
