It should work on single-player worlds if you are playing on 1.17.10-1.14.4.Check this wiki for more information (how to use printer): https://www.badlion.net/wiki/schematica-mod
Also, try loading more than one schematic. The one you have might be broken or incompatible with the version you are playing on.

I downloaded the first schematic (the treehouse).I'm pretty sure here's the reason it doesn't place blocks:
It can't place wood blocks because all of them are Y-axis wood blocks. It's not possible to place a Y-axis wood block on the side of another Y-axis wood block.
It is possible to place Y-axis wood blocks on top of other Y-axis wood blocks or if there are X-axis and Z-axis wood blocks or any other type of block under or on top of it.
It's not working on Badlion Client nor on Forge.
