Hello Bees!And welcome your faces to a PvP Tips and Tricks thread. Now, I am not a good PvPer at all but I can proudly say that I know a lot about PvPing techniques but that does not necessarily mean that I am able to apply them in a game effectively. So, if you wish to learn some PvP techniques then you are in the right place because I will teach you all that you need to know to stride to become the best PvPer in the World!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
✥ Sword:
- Critical hits:
This is one of the most important parts when it comes to PvPing. Critical hits occur when you jump and hit a player whilst falling down from a jump. You can notice a critical hit happening as particles fly out of the player who you do a critical hit to. And finally, critical hits do anything from 0.5 to 2.5 extra damage which is actually a very big amount of damage when it comes to PvPing someone with the same supplies as you.
- Strafing:
Strafing is one of the most known types of PvP. This technique consists in moving from side to side, circling and clicking in a fairly fast speed but also in a constant motion. Strafing is very effective as it confuses the opponent and makes them very nervous to the point where you manage to get more hits on him/her than him/her on you. This technique is even more effective when combined with critical hits and a very good ping although the last one is not always the case.
- Block hitting: (Please note that this is not as effective on 1.8)
Block hitting is when you alternately click the right and left button which are the attack and block button at a very fast speed. Blocking normally reduces the damage you take by 50% and by block hitting, you manage to hit and block at the same time. This is a very over powered technique when fighting someone who just hits the opponent without blocking as, for instance, the opponent hits you 2 times with an iron sword which would normally do 3 hearts of damage but if you block hit, you would only lose 1.5 hearts but if you hit him 2 times, you would deal 3 hearts of damage which is quite a lot when it is compared to your 1.5 hearts. This technique is extremely effective when it is combined with the previous two, critical hits and strafing.
- YOLO Mode Activated:
Now, this technique has not got a name but I decided to call it YOLO Mode Activated. Basically, this technique is very effective for those players who can't deal critical hits, strafe or block hit and it consists in pretty much, going inside the opponent (it's weird but it's possible in Minecraft) and hitting him as fast as possible. YOLO Mode Activated is a very risky type of combat as it does not work when fighting a fairly experienced PvPer who would probably just boost you back with a fishing rod and start strafing you. And lastly, this technique is a very 'nooby' technique but it works at times, so, why not do it?
===============================================
✥ Fishing Rod:
- The Fishing Rod Tactic:
This is a very common combat tactic when it comes to using the fishing rod. All you have to do is right click with your fishing rod aiming towards your opponent who is charging at you to attack which gives you a very high opportunity of being able to get the first hit. If you do this 3 or 4 times in a fight, you will surely be able to come out of the fight as the victorious player.
===============================================
✥ Flint and Steel:
- Placing the FnS correctly:
This is the only thing possible when using a Flint and Steel. All you have to do is place it effectively so that you can light your opponent up. This is very easy to do as long as you practice it a little bit and best of all, it deals 3 hearts of damage!
===============================================
✥ Bow:
- Shooting your opponent whilst they are running:
This technique is very hard to perform when you are a beginner just like me as you have to predict where the player will run to and time it correctly. Let's imagine that the player is running to the right, you will have to shoot an arrow about 1 block in front of the player and time it correctly so that it hits him. If you use this tactic several times in a fight, you will surely win.
- Bow spamming:
This is a very easy type of combat. It consists in spamming the bow without charging it fully but at the same time, aiming it correctly towards the opponent. Anything from 4 to about 7 or 8 bow shots hit correctly should be enough to kill a player with full iron armour.
- Shooting whilst running and getting chased:
This technique is not always effective and it is also very dangerous. It consists in turning around with your bow and hitting the opponent with an arrow, kind of like a 180 degrees turn (sounds so cool, really isn't.) When performing this tactic, make sure to have enough space and distance from the opponent to actually be able to perform this correctly, and also, make sure to have enough health so that, just in case you fail, the player is not able to kill you with a few hits with the sword.
I hope that this thread has managed to, somewhat help you out a little bit and make sure to let me know how much it has helped you and give me some feedback.
Have a nice day!

"Yolo mode" Please, its not funny, I really don't want to offend you but you just sound like a 12 y/o nerd when you say that, specially in public. people will laugh on you, im telling it to you now to help you.Posted on 22 February 2015 - 02:45 PM
Right, to be fairly honest with you, I also dislike that word but you know, in a hypothetical situation like this one, I exceedingly doubt anyone laughing at this stupid little thing. However, I will keep it as it is as it is not doing any harm. Also, just to clarify, I am not a "12 year old nerd" and your assumption is very provocative to say the least but I shall not respond to that with another insult to avoid a flame war.Just a tip for you as well, try to let me know whether the tips are helpful or not next time rather than pick out a minor issue. Thanks.

You also need to include 360, f1, f5, 30 fov, 100 block cross-maps

Okay all of these tactics are shit, you can't just say "strafe" and hope someone can strafe. YOLO mode is retarded. And you're not even good yourself, why do you think it's good for someone bad to give others tips?Posted on 22 February 2015 - 08:38 PM

If you don't have anything constructive to say, then for the love of god do not say it.
Back on topic;
Great tips over-all, pretty good job explaining the different techniques.
I'd just like to add up a few things to this:
Critting is indeed a good job in making the opponent panic / splash a lot but it's probably not the best tactic unless the opponent is refilling and not fighting back.
You forgot to add pot conserving in, it's VERY important and someone can have up to 80 more hits left on their helmet and still lose with no pots.
The best way to pot conserve is to splash one time only, for example you should turn and splash just ONE pot when you're at lets say 5 hearts.
This is better than double splashing at 2 hearts as it gives you an advantage with full hp when the opponent is at 5 probably and you'll have an extra chance giving a combo without wasting an extra pot.
I also tend to one-time splash at 3 hearts, when Im under that I usually double splash.
This works best in kohi kit btw.
Good job tho!

you're not good either. oh and wtf are you talking about, you don't know what conserving pots is. You need to leach the oppenents pots from them, get close to them right before they pot. The rest was decent, but only splash if you're at ,<4 hearts

Yea dude you are the best in the world we know
I'm pretty certain that I probably know more than you when it comes to kohi / potion PvP in general, since I've been #2 in both vanilla and kohi (2170 vanilla and 2220 kohi)
I splash at 3 hearts and it works very well, since one splash gives 5( i think it is) hearts and that leaves you to 8 hearts.
