Another week, more improvements to Badlion Client 3.0! We have been hard at work continuing to improve the client, and this week's list might be a bit shorter since some of our developers have fallen ill. We are wishing them all speedy recoveries, and the rest of us who are healthy continue to press on for BLC 3!

FPS Update 2
This week we have gone ahead and added more FPS improvements into the client. A lot of the changes are internal to the way we are rendering our own menus and systems to reduce down the amount of FPS it costs to open a menu (and just to clarify, it always will cost more FPS to render more things on the screen). We also made some improvements to the new cloak model we have designed to improve performance and reduce FPS drops
We are committed to continuing to improve the FPS in BLC 3.0, and will be back next week with more improvements!
BAC Launcher Update
We have gone ahead and added some of the missing functionality now on the BAC page for Windows users to take advantage of. You can view the recent punishments of people who have been caught cheating on BAC enabled servers or gamemodes. There is also a spot to report people who you believe are cheating on BAC enabled servers for us to investigate. This functionality will be 100% complete when we have released 3.0 to the public.
Replay Mod UI Rework
We are continuing to rework our old Replay Mod menus and update them to the new look and feel. We have gone ahead and added some other menus such as the player visibility menu and fixed some other small bugs related to the Replay Mod and the menus not showing up.

This week is a bit of a shorter week for updates as our team's health comes first for us. We will be back next week with another mini-update (short week again due to America celebrating Thanksgiving) and should be back into the full swing of things when December kicks off.

May I ask the reason this won't support Windows 8.1? I really want to use this when it comes out, but I do not have Windows 10. Windows 8.1 still in support for 3 more years ://Other than that though, this looks pretty amazing :)

Is the main menu UI and mod menu UI going to be updated? I feel like it seems a bit old and low quality compared to other clients like Lunar client. I tried testing 3.0 and I don't really see any difference with much. I think a good way to make it seem unique compared to 2.0 is to update the UI to a more modern and minimalist look.Posted on 21 November 2020 - 05:41 AM

Regarding FPS, I didn't realize many changes ingame. But the menus and settings seem to be a bit faster?In general the beta client is very responsive and smooth. Just a few GUI fixes needed.
Launcher loads faster now for me.
Regarding my issues I wrote about last week:
- Still doesn't work: Perspective Mod when active you can't move look (key and F5)
- Still doesn't work: Replay doesn't work (recording and playing a recording crashes the game)

Hey. On macOS we currently support only the last 5 versions of the operating system and we are looking to do the same on Windows.

We are still gathering feedback and plan to adjust the UI some more over the coming weeks, but we are focused on delivering other features right now and will switch back to UI focus soon when we have finished our FPS improvements.

Yup, we still have tickets open for these things. As I also mentioned in the announcement post a lot of our team was out sick this past week and this coming week is Thanksgiving…so a bit of slower progress now before the full speed throttle of December hits us.

I completely understand dropping Windows 7 and 8, they're not supported by Microsoft anymore. It's mostly Windows 8.1 I was asking about since it's currently still in support for another 3 years. I know there's a fair amount of people who are stuck using it for, various reasons lol, not to mention the fact, switching operating systems is a massive burden for a lot of people. Some might be too scared to make the jump, and others might be kids where their parents wouldn't allow that. Many things to keep in mind there. Thanks for your response, truly appreciate it! :)
I for one am using it partially because Windows 10 is slower and buggier than Windows 8.1 for my hardware, and partially because I can't stand the telemetry services and other BS that's baked into Windows 10.

I'd like it if there was an option to use the same GUIs as the default Minecraft. I like the Badlion GUIs, but I think they're missing some stuff. Like on the new 'FOV Effects' and 'Distortion Effects' sliders don't have bars like some of the other sliders do. I just think it would be cool if the GUI was updated for Badlion.
