Archy.. It's not fixed, it's not going to be fixed by you guys doing some editing, but I think it's the host, I am pretty sure kohi uses it too, and Kohi is experiencing a similar kind of lag.

Hello my good sir.
Do you happen to have a qualification in networking? Do you understand system architecture? Can you explain how a router works? Do you understand what an Ethernet cable is? Do you know binary? Can you explain to me how the CPU communicates with the Ethernet port on my servers? Can you explain to me how the internet hops work? Can you explain to me what the flaws are with the internet? Can you explain the TCP window frame system? Can you explain to me how to make it so my packets aren't lost along the way to a location? Can you explain how to identify good valid packets to bad packets? Can you explain to me how to write a network application? Can you explain what a transistor is? Can you explain how the transistors work together to operate as a CPU? Can you explain all of the different operations of a CPU? Can you explain to me what lag actually is? Can you differentiate between lag and dropped packets? Can you explain to me how packets are rejected?
If you can answer all of those questions that you probably understand enough about networking to actually open up your fucking mouth. If not, shut it.
Seriously tired of the bitching here people. If it was an easy fucking problem to fix don't you think it would be fixed? We have the most advanced anti-cheat in existence, amazing tab lists, fucking ridiculously optimized server code that can support 800 player pvp servers and 300-400 player UHC's, and yet you think fixing lag is an easy thing to do?
Like I said. Do not try to tell us what is wrong here. We will change things one at a time and see if it fixes. A simple yes or no will suffice.

No.

no, althought the lag seemed to start later than usual today, started at 2pm PST instead of 12 or so, still lagging atm for me though, 7:45pm PSTPosted on 11 March 2015 - 05:24 AM
Gberry i will explain fully. Ok, this lag is something like if you have lower ping you still might lag but very minor, half your hits still register. Thats for people below 100ms. Now for people above 150ms. Lets just say i fight someone like DJthread eho has about 60ms, i jitter but my hits don't register. Maybe out of 13cps, 3 hits register. Next moment DJthread would get a combo, then suddenly out of no where i get like 8 hits on him. Thats why this lag is so weird.Posted on 11 March 2015 - 05:30 AM

You realize MineCraft doesn't register every click as a hit right?

1) Go play Badlion, and ping it while playing.
2) Make a tracert when you start lagging.
3) Show gberry result
4) Profit
How to ping:
Open CMD, then type: ping na.badlion.net -t (Use CTRL+C to stop the pinging)
How to tracert:
Open CMD, then type: tracert na.badlion.net

Pretty much. this. Just run something in the background while playing.
If you are windows do something like "ping na.badlion.net -n 100000" in cmd prompt and leave it running for a long time. When you "lag" alt tab quickly and see if the ms spiked or if you got timeouts.

This would help me a lot in detecting the cause, please do this

also if you are using wifi you can ping 192.168.0.1 to see if its your wifi or a routing issue to the hostPosted on 12 March 2015 - 12:45 AM
Server lag is a mass loss of packets ON THE SERVER port. You might be experiencing personal network issues, however the server isn't laggy itself.Posted on 12 March 2015 - 04:22 AM
Expect some lag when playing on the biggest pvp server like honestly why do people complain so much I live in AU and ive only ever lagged out twice with 300+ms i do have to admit the hit detection is retarded for me because somehow i 8block sometimes and then other times i cant even touch them.Posted on 12 March 2015 - 04:52 AM
I will make a video on this tomorrow , it's interesting, everytime i get a "lag spike" where the other person seems to tp or i get extra hits per tick, my ping request times out, curious to see what will happen mid-dayPosted on 12 March 2015 - 02:37 PM
MasterGBerry and Archybot. Do you think that we're complaining for nothing ? I get 30-40ms on the eu and na servers but it's deffinetly not as smooth as it used to be. I aim my crosshairs on the person and the hit registers about 1 second later and at extreme lag points I get about 5 hits done to me in one second. Maybe the word lag is a bit extreme, but I can gaurantee you that most good players will agree with me that Badlion is unsmooth and a bit jumpy. I know yout hosts are amazing, but I don't think they're amazing enough. Hypixel is one of the biggest servers out there (I've almost never seen it dip below 1000 people) but there is no server lag there. I'm pretty sure they're on the bedrock plan on Mc Pro Hosting. I don't know if this is any help at all, but the eu server has a different sort of lag to the Na servers as well. I know that hosting a server is expensive, but maybe if the donation money from the new players goes up you might be able to improve it even more/create a custom computer for hosting servers. Maybe ask some other big servers what host they're using ? I'm not an expert on this but I know enough to be able to tell an unsmooth server from a smooth one . I get 120ms to kohi but it seems less laggy (when in a match).Posted on 12 March 2015 - 07:27 PM

@Larcener we just told you what to do. Problems are being acknowledged, but it's not as easy as /fixlag. Read what was being said above here, and do it.

Hypixel is located at Phoenix NAP. They don't use a 3rd party hosting company, they do it themselves. I contacted AgentK from Hypixel and am still awaiting a response.

I'm just thinking that if one server does it right, why not copy them ? I just did a quick web search on it and found these : http://www.rackservers.com/Category.aspx?c=47 these are very very good server hosting machines ;-;.
This also works : https://mcprohosting.com/plans#/name?plans=dedi but it's more expensive over time.
