Okay so I was thinking today that what if players opponents were categorized by their ELO ranking? That way, the better players will face more skilled players and they can enjoy their experience and players with lower ELOs will face opponents in the same range of ELOs. We could have Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond categories. Whichever tier you were in, that's what your title would be. This would allow players to start from the very bottom and progressively get better. The player wouldn't be able to fight better people until they evidently are ready.I feel like I'm missing something so expect some edits coming in in the near future :D

We don't have a large enough server population for that to work efficiently.

We are going to try and come up with a new algorithm for ratings so clamping doesnt happen as badly.Posted on 15 April 2014 - 11:46 AM

it'd be difficult for the higher ranked people to raise their ELOPosted on 16 April 2014 - 07:08 AM
How CFN? If you are fighting higher ranked donors wouldn't your rank be going up? Or would they change the amount of elo per win. Either or this bronze, silver, gold, diamond thing seems sick.Posted on 16 April 2014 - 10:38 AM
I understand your point, but this is quite a big problem when there's about 30 players online in UK morning and hardly anyone good. So higher ranked player wouldn't get a game. Maybe this system could activate while there's 160+ players online (but we still keep the rank next to our name)Posted on 19 April 2014 - 06:32 PM
I'd prefer it to stay similar. Maybe just split it into 2? 1000-1500 and 1510 +?No idea, but if any categorization happens the amount of elo given needs to be changed.

I really don't see the point of this since you gotta practice with higher ranked players to get better, is like if you played unranked, you may beat all of those childs but you aren't getting skills because that isn't a challenge.Posted on 20 April 2014 - 12:56 AM
