Yeah, but you can't know that on random people. I constantly see people being rude to each other because of ELO. That's why judging by ELO is the last thing you should be judging for. You don't know if the player really tries hard for their elo but it's still low or doesn't give a shit about it. ;)

Rn I couldn't give a fk about my ELO because its resetting, but people call me bad because I am only 1500/600. I ignore them, and im fine with being a low ELO and beating high ranked players lol, just look at my profile, I beat jewce, glitchysquid and no potted a 1900 in a period of 20 minutes, so that's a 1500 skrub for the haters :)

It just depends really, if you have a low rating and no proof of being skilled then idk.Posted on 10 June 2015 - 09:52 PM
ELO definitely doesn't reflect anything about your skill, or status in the server or anything like that. It shouldn't be used for that matter. It really just all depends on the player.Posted on 10 June 2015 - 10:05 PM

I agree… You gain elo from winning, lose elo from losing

But sometimes its not fair… In about 1/7 of my ranked matches I lag out.Posted on 10 June 2015 - 10:19 PM
And half of my matches were played on a laptop that gets 40 FPS tops lolPosted on 10 June 2015 - 10:30 PM

That could be a possibilty, you know. Have you even read what I wrote? There are people that are beast at PvP (not me, and not going to state any names) but don't play/tryhard for ELO. ;)
find an example? @Jura2
also please stop using so many fucking winky faces dear lord

Lmao, find an example of an op 1300… The only way a 1300 could beat a 2200 would be if the 2200 gapp failed/forgot to pot/lagged out during a fight.Posted on 11 June 2015 - 12:36 PM

Example; me? I guess? Even though I'm not 1300 but my ratings aren't that good (I only play mcsg and uhc in potpvp). I can't name you any since those players are not bragging about it, like for example egocentric players with high elo.
Also, from my experience, those high elo players have a huge factor and advantage of so called "Ping". Whenever I complain about ping, those players with high elo's usually say that their elo is below 20. To sum it up, there are (most of them) players with high elo's and all they do is walk forward and click since their ping is so good, they instantly get combo's and/or double hits. They don't require any form of skill in meele PvP.

I have to disagree with you on that one.
Ping doesn't make a player instantly be good at the game, of course having a good ping helps on the hitting detection. But it actually requires skill to be a high elo player.
Knowing how to strafe, a good aim, etc… are things that all high elo players have.
So I don't think having a good ping doesn't make you a better player.
Just saying…

Im not sure ive ever called ping before, its pretty childish and yes- there are people on this server with less than 10 ms, but who cares? This game has never been fair, you could be the best pvper in the world but lose to a guy with 2 ms and a good mouse… But some people are famous for their ping. One guy who I will not name in this community is about 10 years old and has an amazing ping. He was ranked #1 a while ago, he has no melee skill whatsoever. He is LITERALLY 10 years old. It just proves how unfair minecraft pvp is really.

First of all, I want to say whoever is saying Minecraft Pvp is broken, ping is all that matter blah blah blah…If you think that this game is broken, WHY THE FUCK ARE PLAYING IT(at least Pvp part of it)!?!?
Second, this thread and his creator are dumb, as elo was created, so that you could see who is better at certain ladders ( or why would there be top 10 leaderboards) if you think you can't be judged for being low elo:
1 play unranked
2 ignore people who judge you for it
3 if you want to have fun playing try to win as it is the best way to have fun Trust me
In general, IMO If I see a 1300 or lower he is pretty bad ( unless he joins badlion and fights someone good instantly)
If you have 1400 then I can't tell if you are good or bad, because you might started playing Badlion
1500+ - you like the system and not too bad and you did play for points ;)
1600+ - you have been playing a lot, and you are decent
1700+ - average elo for badlion, you are better than half of community
1800+ - you try harder and pushed there either by killing only bad people or you are very good
1900+ - you realize killing A 1400 gives 1 point, and losing is -30 and you started using your skills to beat good players( pmostly 1700s)
2000. you play badlion 24/7, or you if it is potion Pvp ladder, you are probably another running and camping and bow spamming MCSG player like #1 in global does(not rain_dynasty)
2100+ you realize that as soon as someone sees your elo in chat they will target and try to catch you and try hard against you, so you only target 1700s in your ladder as they are giving 5 points and not hard to kill for you
2410 you are DrummerReviews with w tapping and aggressive poison 2s xD
These are all from my experience of playing badlion

Also I forgot to mention, I get 120 ms and have 1906 in Global, 2004 in uhc, 2030 in diamond ocn , 1900 in Kohi, vanilla, gapple, basically in sword laddersSo ping isn't fucking everything
It is not gonna click and aim for you,
Not gonna use w patterns for you,
….

Im not saying the ELO system is bad, its pretty good, but what isn't fair is that I lag out during around 1/7 of my ranked matches, I get around 80 ms but spike to 300 every 10 seconds, I cant get proper gameplay, but I try anyway. I will never reach above 1800 simply because just I have unreliable internet that ghosts at the wrong moments, even though I regularly beat 2000+ rated players.
EDIT: Having a high ELO transforms many players. They can be the nicest person in the world, but if they lose so much as 10 ELO in a match they will become toxic and obsessive. I know that once you get past 2K it is EXTREMELY difficult to regain lost ELO, losing one match can take more than 30 more to replace the ELO lost, but it gets to the point where death threats are made over what? A block game? Just because you lose it doesn't mean you are shit at life, so some people need to realise that.
