Just making this thread for the stupid kids in the chat that spam 'pinger' when they get beaten in a fight'Ok, first off PING DOES NOT MATTER MUCH AND IM NOT FUCKING SAYING IT DOESNT MATTER AT ALL. I guess it does vary a bit for different ladders, for example in buildUHC if you get 100+ ms it is a little harder to aim rods but just look at thebestginger9, he has the shittiest ping known to man and he has beaten many high ranked players, if anything it is better to have bad connection as you take less kb and rods wont do anything to you.
I saw someone say in the youtube comments 'BuildUHC is all ping and rodspam'
1. I get 50/70 ms after 4pm and I still play fine.
2. 'Rodspam' is often called out when somebody gets a rod combo, its
not fucking rodspamming.
3. Unless you are getting absolutely trash ms, you dont need to complain.

-1Ping does matter.
Compare a player with the latency of 10ms and a player with 300ms.
See anything? Try playing with 'bad' ping and you'll realise how bad you are. Not just you, many others too.

Last night at 10pm I was getting 7000 ms, I know what it feels like. If I didnt put this in already 150+ ms is when the gameplay is bad.

Okay you have no idea what your talking about 7000ms isnt even playable you can't do anything. Im pretty sure badlion has this thing were 1-50ms =50ms. Ping does matter in movement and getting combo'sPosted on 20 October 2015 - 06:37 AM

Wrong!
I used to played kohi avidly, and my global elo on predominantly na was 1750 [~50 ms]
I alted eu kohi and actually ended up at 1600 elo. (I played half the matches that I had on na.) [~150 ms]
You just have to change your playstyle and abuse your delayed knockback. I find it easier to straightline on EU servers than on NA because of this.
Just wanted to let you know, though.
Assuming a 20 tps server, each tick happens every 50 ms.
If you have < ~50 ms, there is little to no delay.
If you have < ~100 ms, you have ~1/20th of a second of delay.
If you have < ~150 ms, you have ~2/20ths of a second delay.
and so forth
You ask yourself whether ~1 or ~2 twentieths of a second makes that much of a difference.
C1rcle is right

Badware is correct. The different is minimal until you get to around .25-.5 second delay. I played with 400 ms for a few days about a week ago (on vacation) and although I didn't do amazing, its really just perceptionPosted on 20 October 2015 - 07:51 AM
C1rcle is right about how ping works. But you don't get 7000 ping you'd be just stuck in the ground or in the voidPosted on 20 October 2015 - 09:31 AM
For people that dont understand whatI am saying, im using this in the context that someone has 40ms and their opponent has 50, there wont be much difference at all advantage wise

Yes and when I saw I had 7000 ms I went right ahead to play ranked… Do you honestly think I would play with 7k ms? I logged off straight away

C1rcle is right
Ping definitely matters. I'm 1950 global on kohi through US only (200ms), on alts I've tried EU and I can literally eat a pizza and beat high elo people easy because I get 50ms.

It matters if you're straightline block-hitting. Strategy is everything.Posted on 20 October 2015 - 10:18 AM

I can 99% guarantee you it's a placebo.
Back when there was only practice 1 on kohi, I got a solid 60 ms, however sometimes I would forget that I had my shitty free VPN toggled - meaning I had around 175-225 ms. I honestly didn't notice a difference until I started lagging, and as soon as I became aware of it, pvp became unplayable. There would even be times where I would assume I had my VPN toggled (when I didn't) and I would play as if it were.

True.
The placebo/nocebo effect is extremely powerful, as is the science of human motivation. I encourage you to learn more about this if it interests you, as they help to shape what we do.

I can 100% guarantee you it's not lol, minecraft is and has always been heavily ping based.
