If the elo ladders are supposed to have any sort of competitive integrity, then there should be restrictions on easy ways to get high elos. Your argument applies in favor of elo manipulation as well, but we've banned that. Why? What's changed here?

The problem with this is simply that everything we handle for our punishments are purely based on accounts involved. We make exceptions to ban IP ban evaders, but that's it. Account sharing should be no different. It's impossible to get a hold of everyone who's sharing accounts and it's going to become a big witchhunt-like thing, just as it used to be with our old ban evasion system. It's a mess that no one in administration wants to deal with.And it doesn't even matter– you all know who up there's shared accounts and who hasn't. Judge them however you want, but nothing needs to be physically done about it. I don't think player2 up at #1 is really any good at those ladders, since they had their account played on by player6 and player9. If they care enough to want to have their account "boosted," so be it. I won't regard them as a better player all of a sudden.

The forum community != in-game communityIf the people who look up to people on the leaderboards begin to think of it as a problem, it's a different situation

You make a good point and a stupid one
@OnRestriction
You think you are smart right? Come back when you acctualy know something about how we humans work. If you focus multiple things instead of 1 you will always be worse at that 1 thing comparing to how good you would be if you focused 1 ladder. its human nature. + Everyone has flaws and ladders he isnt good at.
Scrap you whole "absolute dumbest quotes of year" thing and try to think next time before you post something

As i suggested i think sharing an accaunt should be allowed but if have that only the top 20 global needs to be punished. This would create alot of work and still gets rid of the problem

It's not exactly unfair in my opinion. If you can't beat the person you're up against, you don't deserve to win. It really doesn't matter what their name is or their elo, but rather if they are skilled enough to beat whomever they are up against.
This was me - If you cant beat somebody because they're better than you, you don't make a thread requesting for a ban. And tag like half of the admins. That's just asking to be slapped.

Think of it as an account, and not a person behind the account. That's what I do for most things.Posted on 25 November 2015 - 03:41 PM

I understand people asking a friend to get their ELO on one ladder up like 100, but now its like ten fucking people on one account getting stupidly high global ELO, they didn't EARN that ELO, they had someone else get it for them. Its basically boosting.Posted on 25 November 2015 - 05:03 PM
you can't really do this anyways because there are always people with dynamic IPsPosted on 25 November 2015 - 05:54 PM

I think you're right. It's not about just getting high ranked, it's about enjoying yourself when you have the time to play. I'm telling you now, when your older, you won't be able to come on. So make the most of it now.

New hypothetical server, named swagcraft.
Hackers run rampant on the server, but only those on the swagcraft forums have voiced their opinions, not the in game community. The upper staff figures, "oh well, forum community =/= ig community, and ig community hasn't complained about it!"
There's no viable forum for an in game community to validate their concerns on a problem besides the badlion forum itself, but as soon as they come to make a forum post about it, you cut them out of the ig community and clump them with the forum community. The forum community is still part of the in game community. They still represent the concerns of the in game community, and if there's such a large majority pushing for a ban on shared accounts in the forum community, that still accurately represents the in game community. The only case where that doesn't apply is if the issue is strictly forum stuff, where the forum community's opinion would logically differ from that of the in game community.
