You clearly don't understand rod pvp. "Using it properly" is hitting your opponent with it multiple times if necessary in order to get the better hits in a trade. Sometimes you both hit each other multiple times before engaging and the fight resets. Thats just what PvP is; its not cheap, its strategic.

Even for kits like build? No. The fights last too long.

No. That's not "what PvP is".
No. It is cheap as it just gives you a stupid advantage you do not really need in blockgame pvp. I've never used it and never will, and no, don't bring up the "i have bad ping i need it" excuse. I get 90-100ms, 80 if I'm really lucky, and I consider myself pretty good at bow and sword. I know what PvP is, been doing it for a while.
Also, "rod pvp" shouldn't even be a thing. The rod isn't a pvp tool. It just helps you get cheap hits (which means you also get cheap combos), instead of actually trying to use your own skill.
I think there's no skill involved in quickly switching and spamming that tool.
I honestly don't mind if almost everyone *sigh* uses it now, but I hate when people try to bring up points about it just because they want it to be easier and easier to abuse.
You do not need to spam it, you do not need to trade 420 rod-hits or whatever they're called.
"But why shouldn't we use it if we can get an advantage?" Well, I don't think there are many people out there who see pvp like me. I think PvP is supposed to be fun and yet competitive. I don't think we should keep on looking for easier ways to get hits or to pvp in general. We should play the game as it is instead of making it more and more simple. Just an example: GHOSTCLIENTS are a thing. Seriously?
Armour/Potion effects status. Really?
Butterfly clicking, autoclicking, macros, blockhitting (yeah that isn't supposed to be part of the game aka bug/glitch, therefore should not be abused or either used at all).
But that's just my simple and clear opinion ^^ Hope you got my point, no hard feelings <3

This is what I'm saying. Almost all people who are in favor of the change do not understand rod pvp. Believe it or not, it does take skill to actually hit the person with the rod, especially trying to time it correctly.
Since you don't like fishing rods I assume you like pot pvp. (Sorry if I'm wrong, just trying to make a point) Personally, I hate pot pvp. I don't see the appeal, and I don't think it is real pvp either. (All I see is a bunch of obnoxious jitter clicking) However, some players like it and enjoy it over other kinds of pvp. So even though I personally don't like str 2, speed 2, fire res, full inventory of healing pots; and I don't understand it, never liked it, and never will, doesn't mean that other players who do like it shouldn't be able to play like that.
No hard feelings here either. I enjoy the maturity and I don't get mad at people simply because their opinion differs from mine. I like the input from people who disagree :)

Just add 2 rods to build, and only have 1 for MCSG. It would balance it out.Posted on 13 December 2015 - 07:15 AM

The thing is, the rod should have never been introduced as a pvp tool in the first place, and "rod pvp" shouldn't be thing. I think it isn't really needed in pvp, it just makes it way too easy. And no, you do not need skill to use it. I honestly tried to use it while derping in duels with a friend of mine, and it was actually working very well, I only needed to use it 2 or 3 times to get good hits. Whe had no need to spam it, we had no need to wait for the perfect time to attack. I love just going towards my opponent and trade lots of hits and then eventually get a combo.
I'm not a PotPvP guy (and I actually suck at it), but I can claim that is a good kit, where you only need your mouse, keyboard and accuracy. I kinda understand jitterclicking and have nothing against it (I don't jitterclick, don't want my hand to die xD), and I think it is still more legit than Butterfly-clicking or any other stupid and cheap way to get an advantage that doesn't require skill. Also, why should the Kohi kit be changed? There's no bug/glitch abuse, there's no stupid advantage you can get :/, while this infinite rod thing is actually a bug, something that shouldn't be in the game. Same goes for blockhitting, it is not supposed to be part of the game and gives you a stupid advantage YOU DON'T NEED.
Kohi is supposed to be played with pots. I don't see your point. Pots are there to heal you, poison your opponent, slow him down etc. You actually need to use them properly and can't really make mistakes, otherwise you're kinda fucked. Now, potions are actually part of PvP. I don't see any other use for them in Minecraft (Yeah, you can use them on some mobs etc, but 99% of the players mostly uses them on themselves), while the "fishing" rod… well, you get it.
Again, no hard feeling towards rodders. I just don't understand it, and I think my points are not that stupid (I hope so xD).
And yeah, I love having discussions like this too!

eh it does stop those tryhard mcsg rod spammers and why would you even need to use your rod more than like 65 times or whatever the durability is?-1

Um, Its actually about knowing how to use an FAIR advantage accessible to ALL players
It is still a bug/glitch, and you're getting an advantage from it. How can this be a good thing? ;n;

-12 rods need to be controlled so people don't think they're good because they can abuse vanilla glitches
