Eh, I'd be down for unranked BuildUHC myself. I like to keep chat off, so it's not the easiest thing ever to use /duel.

Is it really a problem to turn your chat on when you want to play a match of BuildUHC? I still feel that this has more disadvantages than advantages, if this actually counts as an advantage

I have such a garbage PC setup that I need every single frame more I can get per second, and turning off chat helps that.

I'll admit you have a good point, though.

Yeah, I didn't think about that fps issue. thing is that adding unranked build might make the server lag even more.
Maybe try to toggle chat on to advertise for duel build and when you get to a match, toggle off chat.
One last question, do you use Minecraft settings to disable chat or Badlion chat settings? If the answer is BL chat settings, you could instead try installing TabbyChat, create a filter which will only show you messages containing expressions like "duel". I'm not sure if that helps, but you can always try.
