There's many different things in 1.9 pvp than the hit speed, so no it doesn't really defeat the purpose

No, it just changes it xD. Honestly for me and a lot of other people pvp is getting boring. Like, when a fight comes down to 15cps vs. 16cps, you know we've reached the skill cap xD.

I know, but the hit recharge is a big part of it, and it kinda keeps everything (shields, axes etc.) together.
