Servers like Hypixel have managed to make 1.9 more a less like 1.8, so there is none of this sword charging bullshit. Will badlion do this?Posted on 08 March 2016 - 04:57 PM

No, we want to be the first group of people to support true 1.9 pvp and show that it actually can have skill involved in it. We believe that 1.9 will have a better competitive scene in the long run than 1.7 will. We also have the ability to change the behavior of the PvP if we so choose to.
1.7/1.8 will be one setup and 1.9 will be independent. You can read more about there here https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/66349

"We will prioritize your own region.
E.g. if you are NA the system will prioritize you against other NA players. If you are in queue for 2 minutes and still have no match then it might put you against another region.
Make sense?"
But when I fight a player from another region, will it be on an NA server or EU server? That will affect the ping, and make it unfair, so how does that work?

Maybe a prompt that says "Adding you to the (insert region) pool. Click to cancel" would be really nice

Some ladders are more ping based than others. It would be nice to have the option to not play at all, rather than lose 30 elo because you are unused to the ping.

There will be an option to force your option choice only right now, but cross server play would only be enabled if you've been waiting an extended amount of time anyways. We still haven't decided the full details of the thing, and might even remove cross server stuff for the time being. Setting it up though would allow us to have a lot of proxies and such in multiple locations (such as 4-5 NA, a couple EU, etc) and always have fair ping fights in the future (the matchmaker would take both locations and put you on a server where you would have even ping).Posted on 08 March 2016 - 07:43 PM

Does this mean I can actually play on NA West where I have 40 ms but no one plays so I'm forced to go on NA east where I get 90 ms and I can play with 40 ms on NA west while someone is playing on NA east?

Right now, no. In the future if we keep growing - YES. It would put an NA-E and an NA-W player on a central server and you'd both have about the same ping.

I'm hyped for season 12 and 13, but what's the point of moving the events to another server? I like everything PVP-related being on one server, that's why we all play Badlion. It won't be fun switching back and forth.Last edited on 08 March 2016 - 08:53 PM by Archybot

You won't notice a real difference. The items in the hotbar will still be there, you'll still see notifications, the only difference it'll move you to a different server instead of a different area. This allows us to optimize 1v1 for 1v1, UHC meetup for UHC meetup, WAR for WAR, TDM for TDM, without having everything else run and conflict. Right now we have wars, teamfights, 1v1, party fights, uhc meetup all running on the same server and sometimes they lag each other.
