Glad to see that debuff is actually going to Be played competitively. I didn't get 2400 Elo kohi ladder just from pure bhop y'a know!Last edited on 28 November 2016 - 06:15 PM by MCUnbreakable

We've reverted all changes to PvP from 1.7 to 1.8 - honestly if we didn't tell you what version it was, you would just think it's an optimized 1.7 client. It's 1.8 graphic optimizations with ALL 1.7 combat (there is no choice, it's all hardcoded back to 1.7) such as crosshair, hitboxes, hit damage indicators, lava buckets. You can try the PvP client before buying premium if you have doubts.
So it's basically what you explained on the CTF stream? With the few 1.8 bugs fixed and then you can keep all the great features 1.8 did bring like spectator mode, etc?

yea uh where's the nodebuff and gapplePosted on 28 November 2016 - 06:19 PM
pot players MUCH prefer nodebuff and gapple over debuff and soup.bow players MUCH prefer archer over uhc
why exactly are you choosing the least played kits?

does this mean that the only 1v1 ladder you can play is the one that has been chosen for that 2 weeks?
No. You will still be able to play the normal Arena style. Just for the league there will be one choosen kit.

Please tell me ArenaPvP won't be stuck with only 5 kits, that's only for PUG matches and leagues right?Last edited on 28 November 2016 - 06:30 PM by DerRevilos

A team that is rod heavy will never lose on Build, but might be upset on SG
A team that is sword heavy will never lose on Soup, but might be upset on Debuff
UHC is there to test bow if upsets don't happen
Build, Diamond OCN, No Debuff, Archer, and then maybe Soup is heavily biased towards sword only players
If you still have questions feel free to ask. c:

This is only for 5v5 PUG/Leauge, the 1v1 ladders + league(1 at a time) will contain the normal 12

Only those kits? Come on, Debuff and Soup are extremely underplayed and it really favors bow/rod players over melee. Honestly it should be more like thisBuild
NoDebuff
Archer
GApple or Soup
UHC

Favors rod/bow players when two of the five kits don't have either one of those…

Wait so will SG (and other gamemodes) be how they are now? Like will sg stay the same or will it just be 5v5's and stuff?Posted on 28 November 2016 - 06:49 PM

Last I checked
3>2
And the two chosen "melee ladders" are the most underplayed. I'm not trying to start anything, but why would you choose the more underplayed speed 2 kits for the PUG matchmaking, it just doesn't make sense to me

Because 5v5 with pots takes more skill if theres debuff inplace. Potion is way too simple without them.
Gapple takes a lot less skill than soup refill.

Are the texture packs also fixed? They look so bad on 1.8Posted on 28 November 2016 - 07:35 PM
Also will there be unranked 1v1 kits for people to play at 128 tps?Posted on 28 November 2016 - 07:46 PM
From experience from clan wars and scrims, GApple 5v5s aren't great at showing team skill really. I'd also argue that Archer doesn't require as much skill as a 5v5 gamemode, whereas in UHC teamwork is more important.Complaints about having Debuff instead of NoDebuff seem trivial to me. If you're good at NoDebuff then you should be able to (or only need to learn how to) debuff the opponent and dodge/bait debuffs from your opponent.
BuildUHC has a completely different skillet to most kits and I don't think there are any complaints about it being included. My only preference would be either Diamond or Iron instead of SG, but the reasoning behind choosing SG that Archy gave makes sense and SG requires more consistency than Build.
Overall though, the kits are well picked and I am looking forward to it.
