Introduction

This announcement will finally answer the question as to what you can actually play on Badlion Esports. There are many services we will be offering on Badlion Esports, the first batch will be released in December 2016 and immediately after in January and February more features will be added. This is a reminder that Badlion Esports is going to be a continually upgraded project throughout all of 2017. The more people that join us in the earlier stages the faster we can progress the product. Also for clarities sake every single gamemode in this post requires BAC (Badlion Anticheat).

5v5 PUG Matchmaking

You have seen this term “PUG” many times now in the various announcement posts. For those of you who are not familiar on what a PUG is it stands for “Pick up Game.” It basically means you get paired up with other teammates in a team vs team battle (5v5 in our case). We will be allowing you to solo queue (queue by yourself) or duo queue (play with 1 friend) in our new 5v5 PUG Matchmaking system. We might make modifications to this setup later as we grow the product and have more players in the matchmaking pool.

The matchmaker for this system takes into account the following things:

1. Ping to different server locations
2. Your MMR (or party MMR) in the various game modes
3. How long you have been waiting for a match

Based on these various factors our system will try to find you a fair match. The longer you wait the wider we will expand the ping and rating ranges to try and find you a match. You will queue up directly in the client and not inside of Minecraft directly. There will be a demo and several videos later to demonstrate this. Each gamemode has it’s own MMR, and there will be a global MMR for all five of them combined. Also these five gamemodes will be the five gamemodes in the first season of our team league which is coming out.

Game Mode #1: ArenaPvP

What a surprise? Badlion’s most popular game mode will be featured as one of the five game modes for the new Badlion Esports PUG and League (more on this later) systems. The game mode will feature 15 hand picked arenas (3 per kit) and the following kits: BuildUHC, SG, Debuff, Soup, and UHC. For this particular game mode your team of 5 will fight another team of 5 in a best of 5 series (lots of 5’s right?). This means you need to win 3 rounds to win the series and the game mode.

Game Mode #2: Survival Games

Another long time Minecraft game mode, Survival Games, will be featured in the Badlion Esports systems. You will square off with your team of 5 in alternating positions with some spacing here and there (NOT SIDE VS SIDE) in several hand picked SG Maps (not yet decided). It will be your team’s objective to run around the map, grab the loot from the chests and slaughter the enemy team. Last team standing wins. There will only be 1 game played for Survival Games unlike the best of 5 series in ArenaPvP.

Game Mode #3: Skywars (NEW)

By far one of the most popular game modes in Minecraft today is Skywars. Our new Skywars system will feature 12 spawn islands with a variety of layouts for the teams to battle it out on. The positions on the maps will also be in alternating positions (not side vs side again). The purpose of this is to make the game less likely to end up in a stalemate. There will be a chest refill, spawn islands collapsing, and a final death match if the game is not ending fast enough. This game mode will also be played in a best of 3 series similar to ArenaPvP. This means you need to win 2 out of the 3 rounds in order to win this game mode.

Game Mode #4: Rush (NEW)

Another popular game on many Minecraft servers in Germany and also a game mode featured already in ESL Play’s system is called Rush. It is very similar to the game mode known as Bedwars. Each team has a spawn island and a bed. Close by are various forms of money spawners (bronze, silver, and gold) as well as a shopkeeper. You go to the shopkeeper with money that you have gathered and buy blocks, armor, weapons, and more. Your objective is to destroy the enemy team’s bed to stop them from respawning (you respawn when you die in this game mode). Once you destroy the enemy team’s bed you will need to kill all of the enemy team one last time to win. If you do not win within the allotted time every player will be teleported to a death match arena with a beacon in the middle. At the end of a 1 minute period in the deathmatch arena whichever team is closer to the beacon wins the game. Rush is a simpler, more PvP oriented version of DTC/M.

Game Mode #5: Capture The Flag

From our last tournament held here on Badlion we lastly present Capture The Flag. Similar to the tournament two teams face off to try and capture the enemy team’s flag as many times as possible within 15 minutes while not letting theirs get captured more. This will be best of 1.

Premium UHC’s (BAC Enabled)

As described in the earlier announcement regarding pricing of Badlion Esports (found here https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/144529) we talked about Premium UHC’s with priorities. These UHC’s will be specially hosted during the peak times of each region (1 per region to begin, more if demand requests) and will require all participants to have BAC enabled (Badlion’s Client Anticheat). These will be hosted on Open which means they will operate at 20 tps. Any registered user can join into these games, but similar to our existing UHC’s there is a limited number of slots. If the game is filled up and there are non-premium users in the game it will start to make room for them one slot at a time by kicking the people in terms of low to high priority. This means that if you are a registered user with no Badlion+ rank, or a legacy lifetime rank you will be kicked first. Then the Badlion+/legacy lifetime ranks will start to get kicked to make room for the Badlion Esports members. If the game is completely full with Badlion Esports users then no more space will be made. You will not be kicked if a Badlion Esports member is on your team though. If a team is composed of only non-Badlion Esports members then you might get kicked if room is needed.

This is one of the few parts of Badlion Esports that will be free to access if you are lucky. As time goes on and more people start to subscribe to Badlion Esports we will start to host more Premium UHC’s during peak time to allow more people to partake in them. The Premium UHC’s will operate at 20 tps to begin with. We will work slowly on adding 128 tps UHC servers if we feel the players will benefit enough from them.

We have more plans for UHC and Badlion Esports that we will disclose at a later date when we get closer to releasing these features.

ArenaPvP 1v1 League

The 1v1 league is your chance to show your skill on the premium only servers in the 1v1 situation. The league will choose a single kit to play for two weeks and at the end of two weeks, the #1 player will receive a prize and the ladder will reset and a new kit will be chosen for the next two weeks. These are only for Badlion Esports players and will operate at 128 tps. This special 1v1 ladder will take advantage of the new premium locations as well to ensure the lowest ping possible.

UHC League

We will be working more on the full plans/setup for a special Badlion Esports UHC League coming in 2017 also. Details have not been worked out so I don’t have anything to share yet, but we will be working on some special things for UHC at the start of 2017 as well.

Conclusion

This covers the high level of the new game modes coming to Badlion Esports. We will work with the community as always to determine how we should be steering the ship that is known as Badlion Esports for future game modes, features, and ideas. Thanks for helping us to reach this point and we can’t wait to take the next step forward together.

Why build, sg, debuff, soup, uhc?

It's like 2 popular kits with the same skill set and then 3 other kits with unique-ish skill sets that have more popular counterpart kits that represent the same skill set. I'd expected something like Build, Diamond OCN, No Debuff, Archer, and then maybe Soup fits in as your fifth, just cause Soup 5v5s sound cool
