I'm not quite sure I follow your logic here.
You're saying that it's stupid to aspire to be better than you already are? In particular, you're saying that if I were to ask, "How do I do as well in school as A or B," it'd be unfounded since I'm not already as good as those individuals.
If that's the case, then why would anyone play a competitive game in the first place? If you suck in the first place (which almost any new player would), according to your logic, it's highly unlikely that you'd ever get better, especially since you cannot ask how the "good" players play.
You may not see it as stupid but that's probably because you fall under the same category as the original poster. A wannabe. It doesn't matter how much the OP practices because he's clearly not cut out to be the best minecraft player there ever was. It doesn't matter how many times he practices, he's going to be shit, it's like a fat person asking how to beat Usain Bolt at the 100 metres. I'll quote you trying to rebut my argument with your little analogy.
AlbertEinstein wrote
You clearly missed the point. Not being as good as Danteh and Tylarzz is not what invalidates his post, it's that he clearly doesn't have the potential to become as good as them. Like I said, a morbidly obese white person asking how to beat Usain Bolt in the 100m is an exaggeration of the OP's post. So, if I were to make some changes to your analogy in order for it to actually relate to my post, it would be more like "I have severe brain damage and lack capabilities in the areas of maths, science and english, how do I do as well in school as A or B?" This is of course assuming that a grade of A or B is not attainable by the student with brain damage, as cruel as that may sound.

How did I have the inkling that you're a CS:GO player? I don't play it myself, but it seems that the crankiest of MC players are often CS:GO players as well.
I'm pretty sure the point in making this thread is to ask opinions from other people on how to get better. Apparently a good reference point for skill level is the two listed individuals, whom I personally have never heard of (I don't keep up with "famous" MC PVPers). This poor guy just wants to improve his in-game abilities, and your response is along the lines of "You're bad at the game, and you'll never be better." That's in no way constructive.
It must be really disheartening to try all those different techniques and STILL not come out on top. Hell, the guy's paid 75 dollars for the Lion rank, so if I were him, it better be worth my time.
You're going about this in a rather toxic manner. But hey, man, I get it. It's cool to come on here and say how bad others are at the game. They'll never be at your level, man. It's a sin to come on here and ask how to get better when dicd is here, since you'll never be as good as dicd.
Sarcasm aside, I truly think that your ego has gotten to the point where if someone else wants to get better and better than you, you have to tear them down and call them bad and make them feel bad about it. Moreover, I think you just like calling people bad.
And is he really that terrible if his Build UHC rank is higher than yours, O PVP wise man?

I, unlike you, think that this is a fair post. He may not become as good as these players, but at least he has the ambition to become as good as them. And usually with ambition comes results, though maybe not as dramatic as he would have hoped. I think it's highly unfair and unfounded to say that he'll never improve, and that he'll forever suck.
You clearly have a PVP ego, and hey, that's fine. But coming on here and haranguing this guy for asking a simple question is pretty ridiculous, and it goes to show just how overly competitive and toxic you are.
I hear the word "sweaty" being thrown around a lot, and honestly, I've never actually used the word. But I would be very sincere in saying that this word appropriately describes you.

Oh how lovely, I'm being related to an antagonist in a movie. It's like Forrest Gump, how he has a physical disorder and ends up being extremely athletic! Oh how I love fiction! Who knows, maybe a kid who sucks this bad really will end up as the best Minecraft player ever! It does suck though how he probably has to move out of the house in 5 years, which certainly hinder his goal of becoming the number 1 Build UHC player, provided that the game hasn't completely died out by then in the first place.

It's amusing that you attempted to find a fallacy in my analogy, and it's even more amusing that you failed. Notice the word "white"? Ever cared to count the amount of white men in the 100m finale? Not to mention all 100m runners have trained since they were very little and had exemplary genetics for running. I guess you've failed here, white men have a much lower ratio of fast twitch muscle fibre than black people, namely those of African American descent.

I just watched as your argument slowly deteriorated.
1.) It would be SUCH a waste of your time if you were to respond "properly" to that first part, but hey, just respond to the rest, because that's all fine.
This is the first stage. You begin by saying that you aren't going to put the effort in, since it'd be such a waste of time.
2.)

Clearly the language of a newbie to CS:GO!
(I've played exactly 2.5 hours, and I couldn't tell you what the bolded words are. I guess that extra 1.5 hours makes the difference.)
Second stage: jump at the technicalities to make sure you aren't seen as a try hard who dedicates time to competitive games.
3.) You don't "give a fuck." I'm glad to see you give enough fucks to continue this.
Personal favorite stage: Talk about how much you don't care.
4.) Another great stage of a dying MC argument is when you have to resort to the "MC is dying" card. And before you jump on and say, "I said, if it does!" I know what you meant.
5.) "ok."
6.) "Uh, uh, you didn't see the 'white' part, idiot! White men are slower than black men. Haha! Your argument failed because you didn't acknowledge that white men can't run as fast as black men! Nanana! I'm totally being substantive right now and not pointing out little details desperately trying to redeem my shipwreck of an argument!"
HaHAAHAHaHaHaHaHaHaHaahhhaHHaHahhAHaHaHaHaHaHaHhahahaHaHA!
7.) At least you stuck to your guns and ended with the same attitude you had in your first post.
OK, next.

I am satisfied with my progress here.
I got you to admit that you are exactly what I called you out to be. Furthermore, you were quite unabashed in admitting it.
You went from defending your argument of him being a bad player who will perpetually stuck to defending your intelligence, your CS:GO playtime, and giving in and saying how toxic and egocentric you are.
Thanks for the fun time! I enjoyed myself.
P.S. I will take you up on that PM suggestion. If you had done a little more research on me than just my name, you would have seen that my entire clan on this server is dedicated to real-life accomplishments.

You said "It's like a fat person trying to beat Usain bolt at the 100 metres". This is exactly the point. He will never be the best but if he deeicates himself he could well get closer and closer and maybe become a profesional runner, Bolt has some talent yes so he might never be the best but he could sure be very good.Posted on 26 December 2016 - 10:35 PM
