Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:32 PMSo what really happened with Kohi on badlion?
Also thank you for both GBerry and Archybot's hardwork on the server. Really wouldn't have met any of my online friends without this server.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:38 PMJust differences of rules, opinions, and other stuff. Banning a huge population during judgement days didn't help.
You're welcome, it was a pleasure.
Last edited on 26 May 2018 - 01:34 PM by bobo50centWhat do you think is the main reason Potpvp never really succeeded on Badlion after Kohi.
If Badlion was still doing okay (Not really growing but not dying either) would you have stopped the server?
Do you think that CheatBreaker will be hard to bypass for the average minecraft Cheat coder? (Just checked the post and saw that you guys didnt want questions regarding anticheat tech, idk if this counts since its not related to Badlion so ill leave it her.)
Thanks for everything!
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:44 PMToo many cheaters inside of Potpvp, that's just the honest fucking truth
Possibly not, but there were other reasons for the shutdown outside of community shrinkage and overall player count.
Uhh, I think all of the current cheat developers probably won't be able to bypass it. Minecraft is full of either beginner cheat developers or people who can't make it against real anticheats. The main question is will actual cheat developers come, and will CB be able to keep up with them or not if they do.
Np, it was a pleasure ofc
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:32 PMThoughts on servers paying youtubers to play on their servers?
(Probably answered before) Thoughts on servers screensharing players?
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:45 PMI am opposed to it, I always have been, even with BL/ESL where doing it.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:34 PMOnly question i have for u guys is, what should i do without Badlion in my life… #bringbackfactions @labmity -lab
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:45 PMI have no idea, I'm replacing it with my new job and other games. That's up to you.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:34 PMFavorite thing you have programmed for Badlion?
Least favorite thing you have programmed for Badlion?
Thank you for making this great server and letting me be a senior mod and community manager. I had a blast moderating, talking to new people, and playing, you guys made a huge positive impact on a lot of people :).
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:45 PMAntiESP + GCheat
It was a pleasure to have you here.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:36 PMIf you could, would you like to bring back Kohi?
KohiSG vs "normal" SG? Why?
Which Arena season did you like the most? Why?
Lastly, thanks for everything.
Last edited on 26 May 2018 - 01:47 PM by ArchybotI wouldn't want to bring back Kohi because it has it's legacy and I'd hate to see it replaced, whether successful or not.
Kohi SG was real fun but it just didn't fit with BL once potpvpers left.
12 - I wanted 13 to be 12 with multi server support, but it wasn't. I think everything was perfect with 12 other than only 1k people per shard.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:07 PMI think Kohi had it's place and it's passed, same with Badlion and competitive Minecraft.
Season 12 was the all time high for ArenaPvP…Season 13 just didn't happen the way we envisioned. If season 15 was season 13, it would have been very different.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 01:51 PMHow much experience in programming do you have?
When you started creating Badlion, did you ever think it'd be the most popular competitive pvp server?
Will you miss Badlion?
Thanks for the great memories.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:08 PMI've been actively programming for 8 years now….which is scary that I had to just think of how long it has been.
Nope…i'm really happy with how far everything came.
I will always look back on Badlion as a good set of memories. I also hope to continue to make new memories with the Badlion Client.
Your welcome, thanks for playing.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:16 PMI have 6.5 years of actual programming knowledge, before that was just me playing around tinkering with scripts.
No, not at all. It was literally a practice server for my faction and my ocn team.
Yes I will miss it. It's been a core part of my life as a server for 5.5 years, and even longer as a group of friends. This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
Thanks for being here
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:03 PMFirst off, the community wants to thank you for creating a stage in this community for everybody to be able to play a game and server that they enjoy.
1. Was there any other time where you considered closing Badlion.
2. What do you think made Badlion stand out in front of every network.
3. Who inspired you to expand MC to an esport.
Thank you so much for the past years :)
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:09 PMNp, glad you loved it so much.
1. Not until the past year…well i take that back. Maybe when we were having growth/ddos issues.
2. The fact that it was really based around PvP and not minigames.
3. We wanted to do it ourselves.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:19 PM1. Late 2015/Early 2016, which is weird because that's when it was exploding in popularity. Without ESL idk if I would have kept it up or left it.
2. It was focused around competitive PvP and remained mostly true to that vision. We were also very open, transparent, and vocal with the community.
3. We just wanted to do it ourselves as that's how I started playing MC, and I knew I could do it better.
Was a pleasure.

Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:10 PMCan't go into this in detail…but it would have helped move Minecraft into a proper esport.
I think it will last as long as the community is around to support it.
About a year or so…but we've been trying to save/grow it as much as possible.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:15 PMArchy, will you still be involved with BLC?
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:21 PMRight now it looks like I'll just be an adviser. I won't be doing much outside of that as it's on the right track, and I don't see me actively interfering with it unless it gets off that track.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:23 PMWill you ever make the BAC software public so any server which wants to can have a grade A anticheat without having to have 250 concurrent player count?
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:49 PMThe issue is that there are certain cheats (which we have already seen as early as the beta of BLC 1.0) that don't run on your computer. These are impossible to detect and it's why we can't offer BAC to anyone without them installing a piece of software on their servers for it.
Last edited on 26 May 2018 - 02:39 PM by LouiieWhat are your plans in the future?
What is the best memory you two have had working together?
What is your favorite game of all-time?
Favorite pokemon game and pokemon
Opinion (If you want to)?
By the way thanks for an amazing time on the network!
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:51 PMGoing to continue on BLC and see where life brings me next.
Prolly some of the late night launches early on. Lots of stress but fun. I enjoyed playing games with Archybot more than working anyways.
I love Gold/Silver/Crystal. Like i played Red/Blue/Yellow a lot too but i dunno, the second gen was prolly my fav. I'm lame, i like Pikachu.
Work hard towards what you love doing and the rest will come on it's own.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:21 PMWork at boeing. Thinking about designing a new style of game never seen on Minecraft or Roblox, maybe I'll put it on both platforms.
Late night launches and drunk Twitch (as in the character) league matches when we would get upset at Badlion issues. We would always get pizza, and alcohol sometimes (a lot for me back in the day) and just play league, work on sysadmin and development stuff, and lose track of time. One of Gberry's favorite nights of twitch + league I can't even remember.
Single player: Final Fantasy X
2nd Gen all the way
Stay in school, find something you enjoy and also pays.
I think you are a bit too emotional and you really rub people the wrong way, but you aren't THAT bad once you get close enough.
Last edited on 26 May 2018 - 02:42 PM by 524758635862765What started the death of competitive minecraft PvP?
If you could go back in time, when kohi was merging with badlion, would you have done something else than just completely deleting their gamemodes?
Opinions on the MCSG shutdown and what did it cause?
Favourite/least favourite moment on here?
Do you think the server could still be running with a decent amount of players if it wasnt for the big 'quit for fortnite' thing?
Is there any chance of ESL bringing back badlion in the future?
What server(s) do you think could come in badlions place or atleast fill a part of its gap?
Just wanted to say this because i know both of you are going to read everything i said here. Huge thanks to both of you for making such an adventure like this possible to me. I grew up from being just a little child to an almost 14 year old with badlion. I will never forget this and i can for sure say it was one of the best things in my whole childhood. I will miss this server and everything/everyone on it and hope one day someone could fill its gap. Once again thank you for this.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:53 PM1.9 took the game in a direction the community didn't want it to go.
We never tried to just delete their gamemodes, it just took time to port them but the community gave up too fast and left for us to do anything about it. If anything we should have just done the merge slower or waited until everything was ready before merging.
MCSG shut down because they didn't innovate and do anything new.
Favorite***** moment is definitely the 10k peak. I also really enjoyed the beginning and running around the old asian spawn or the old portal spawns.
Yeah it would be doing better overall if Fortnite hadn't taken so many players away from MC.
I don't think any server will successfully fill the gap. I think the community will break into a bunch of other servers.
Glad you had a lot of fun on Badlion :) Happy to have made so many memories for the community.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:26 PM1.9 and lack of support from mojang
I probably wouldn't have done it to be honest. The kohi community was full of cheaters and the ones who weren't cheating were just not the type of players I liked. As for deleting their gamemodes, after judgement day wiped out the majority of them, there was no reason to fix up and keep their gamemodes as the community was gone.
MCSG was shutdown because it was abandoned and never innovated. It was literally successful because it was the first SG meganetwork, that's it.
Fortnite hurt it a lot, but all fortnite did was speed up the process of what was already happening
MineHQ might fill it, but not all the way. I think a mixture of several servers will fulfill it, if they do.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:50 PMWhy do you think potpvp on badlion wasn't accepted by the kohi community which resulted in the kohi community partly dying ?
If minecraft as a whole became competitive again, would you consider reopening the server. (Even though this is very unlikely ?)
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 02:55 PMBecause there were too many cheaters and GCheat kept kicking their asses.
Possibly, but as you said this is very unlikely.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:31 PMCheaters, straight up. There were other things, but the largest thing is we do not tolerate cheaters, nor people associating or defending them, unlike most other potpvp servers.
Possibly if I could see the dream coming back. Right now I'll just be designing non-competitive stuff.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:02 PMWell I don't really have any questions to ask about badlion since pretty much everything was answered above but thank you for the opportunities you've both given me :)
I really hope I helped and had a positive impact on badlion in the past 3 years.
And I guess since I've seen it above… Do you have any advice for 18 yr olds?Just finished highschool and about to have exams for the next few months. After getting into college(computer science) I really have no clue what I should do.
Thank you again for making this server!
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:38 PMNetwork network network! Make friends inside of the industry you wanna do. Find good friends, find opportunities, do internships - networking is as important, if not more, then actually graduating with your degree.
It's been an absolute pleasure and blessing to have you here and all you've done as a tester. Thank you, and you're welcome
Posted on 27 May 2018 - 12:59 AMAgree with Archy. A lot of today's world is who you know and not what you know.
Thanks for all of your help these past years and especially the past year. Good luck going forward :) Hope you still are around to help us test the client out!
Last edited on 26 May 2018 - 03:18 PM by RadioactivebeansWhat do you think was the best tournament on badlion?
Why did you let mentally touch arena?
How has suchspeed contributed to the server since he became admin?
Opinions on the player council?
What was mistazels tweet about other people claiming his work about?
Do you plan on doing anything special on the last day of badlion?
What are your opinions on danteh?
I want to say I actually love both of you guys I spent 4 years with badlion and it was the most fun I could ever have online it introduced me to so many amazing people thank you guys so much for all the times I spent. Hope you guys don’t forget about this community
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:49 PMI think the original 5v5 arena tournament was probably the best.
Mentally had deep beliefs that his changes could help out arena. It's unsure whether he hurt it or it was just the community leaving it.
Suchspeed helped by organizing youtubers here and there.
I think the player council was successful and would have been even more successful if the community wasn't dying.
He was salty that I "took credit" for his KB. In reality, I didn't take credit for it and it was actually the player council's KB that he helped organize, not his.
Just streaming the tournaments and maybe events through my stream
I like danteh, he's chill.
Np, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Posted on 27 May 2018 - 01:01 AMAgree with Archy, the OG 5v5 Tournament was the best hype and the largest one we ever hosted.
We let mentally touch arena because it honestly needed some changes to try and improve it. While we didn't know if he was going to succeed or not it couldn't just stay the same forever. This is what killed MCSG and it was happening to Badlion too.
Suchspeed has been helping here and there but I wish he was a bit more active.
I think the player council helped us overall..but it was just too little too late.
Yeah was just QQ'ing about KB like Archy said. Hardly call that his work.
Dealing with the headaches of shutting stuff down lol.
Think Danteh is a cool guy. Really happy that he made it somewhere in the esports scene, he really is a talented gamer. Wish we could have built that Minecraft esports scene with him but it didn't happen.
Good luck o/ Thanks
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:35 PMAre you uploading past leaderboards of each ladder to somewhere?
I will miss my stats if they are gone rip lol
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:50 PMWe might archive all stats for people, so they can always see them.
Posted on 27 May 2018 - 01:02 AMUnfortunately with all of the GDPR stuff coming up we actually will not be archiving stats. We are going to be trimming down the database a lot after Badlion shuts down…we have a backup of everything from May 24th but we just would rather trash most of the Badlion Network data since we won't be maintaining it.
Archy is probably not aware of this yet…sending him a msg now lol.

Posted on 26 May 2018 - 04:05 PMArenaPvP - this was my baby and what built Badlion and what we were known for
Factions - fuck this gamemode, I just can't stand the community. The gamemode is ok, the community makes me sick.
CTW - I would love to revamp but I have no idea what to do to make it new and exciting while keeping it's competitive core
Posted on 27 May 2018 - 01:04 AMSmellyPenguin built the original UHC…but i had a lot of fun cleaning it up and optimizing the fuck out of it. I really enjoyed ArenaPvP 3.0 (I think this was season 6?)
I really didn't like building SG…dunno just wasn't fun to me.
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 03:43 PMHaven't talked to you guys properly for a long time, apart from sometimes spamming archy's stream occasionally. It was great to see Badlion grow to what it became and I had a lot of fun helping here. Good luck and stuff, we should catch up sometime.
also bring back anime chat
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 04:05 PMThanks,
and we will always have anime chat in our hearts
Last edited on 26 May 2018 - 03:58 PM by CorityI'd like to thank you guys for making such a great server. I met so many friends here and made so many memories, and I'm really grateful for that. I wish both of you the best of luck :)
What were your personal favorite gamemodes to play throughout your time playing Minecraft?
Posted on 26 May 2018 - 04:06 PMMy personal favorite gamemode was SG, and that was a big reason it was added to badlion. I also really enjoyed domination, ctf, and tdm.
