Progression system with a form of XP and as you level up you get kits/perks. Donators would have a larger XP multiplier? Maybe reset kits for everyone after a certain set time (1 month, 2 weeks) so that to have kits and play you need to be active to keep those kits. Just an idea.Posted on 23 July 2015 - 08:57 PM
If kits are added, then there could maybe be 2 gamemodes, like "Classic Skywars" where there's no kits, and then "Skywars" with kits. (Just for people who don't like kits, just a idea so you easily just go with one gamemode)Also, is it possible to put a block limit for skybasers or a temp ban like BuildUHC, I don't want to spend 30 mins on a guy dumping lava buckets around his skybase. Or maybe a time limit where after 10 mins it's deathmatch and in the deathmatch you can't build? Anyways HYPEE!! Will def play this! :D

I kinda want this skyward to be less rushy and more stay at your island to prepare rather than stone sword rushing the people next to youPosted on 23 July 2015 - 09:20 PM

I would say 16 player maps and 32 player maps. Idk about 128 it probably would take forever to fill up.A progression system where you can get upgrades and unlock more stuff by playing more would be nice, give more incentive to play. But don't make kits and stuff too OP or it will end up with the newer players having no chance to win.
And a leaderboard/elo system will also be cool, but I'm sure you guys are already doing that.

Maybe add a UHC type aspect to it to allow for more competitive strategic survival. Also has howy said people tend to camp, so to make it a little more tense add some sort of shrink that happens every 5 minutes or so to persuade people to fight.Posted on 24 July 2015 - 02:00 AM
There should be starter kits for different ranksIE:
Default: Leather armor, wood sword, stone tools
Donor: Chain armor, stone sword, iron pickaxe tools
Donor+: Iron armor, stone sword, iron tools
Lion: Iron armor, 1 diamond piece, iron sword, diamond tools
All the ores on the island should be dropped as ingots. There should be 2-3 chests on each island, all containing blocks of some sort. And for the player size, I feel like 16 people would be a good size for a normal map. Then there could be bigger games with 32 or 64.
Maybe something to add would be separate donation kits. So you could purchase an enchanter kit or a bow kit or whatever kits there are. Or you could unlock them in-game somehow (probably wins or kills).

Let's get away from p2w

If you're going to have kits, then they need to be able to be obtained by everyone. Best suggestion for this is a currency of some kind, in which you get credits for kills/wins/assists. Then those credits can in turn be used to purchase kits. Kits shouldn't be too overpowered though. It should give you a slight advantage, such as a starter stone sword, or leather armor, or even just a stack of building blocks, but nothing to the extent that anyone with that kit is basically going to win.I like the idea of 8 player maps for solo, but maybe even bump that up to 10 or 12. Also include a To2 version with a total of 20 or 24 players. As for the larger suggestion, I feel like this should be more of a special event thing. So To5 or To6, 20 or so teams total, these games will have more thought put into them by players, if there's a perk to winning. Even if the perk is a way larger amount of credits.

Badlion tries to stay away from p2w schemes at all times if you haven't noticed. I would suggest trying out some hypixel gamemodes if u wanna p2w

In kit pvp, getting the highest elo is essentially "winning", and you need to pay for ranked matches or get lucky and have someone gift you them

If you think ArenaPvP is p2w then you must really be awful at the game.
HattoWolf, arguably one of the best players in Minecraft ever got to the top 10 slots on his main and all of his alts not using any form of Donator. If you are really that good you can get to rank #1 in 200-300 games. (Don't forget you get 10 + 10 + 20 a day if you vote and /register)

I have an idea but it would take specific maps for it to work:My idea uses progressive border shrink which instead working horizontally, goes upwards vertically.
You start on your island, collect resources from your chests as per usual; but with these maps, the cornucopia is higher on the y axis, so with the border shrink slowly getting higher vertically, players will be forced to go to centre to fight others. The border shrink will stop once it gets to the maps cornucopia y level. This stops camping and makes games more tactical.
Kits should either be obtainable through crates or gained by doing certain achievements. This avoids a Pay To Win situation which Badlion is not.

everyone always start off with the same thing and have a progression system, which you could upgrade those "thing" , also do it like mcsg, 2 128 players servers, like 6 16 players servers and like 18 8 players serversPosted on 24 July 2015 - 12:44 PM

I would not mind donors having immediate access to all kits but make it so that kits can be earned by points/kills.I think a elo system would be a great idea.
I like 12 players for solo, 24-36 for teams of two and three, and however many people you can get to join a lobby for to4+
Glad skywars is coming to Badlion!
