i think there should be like different types of gamemodes like UHC so it keeps it interresting and not the same constantly, whch is usually what draws me away from skywars after some time, i think alot more people would stay. if you guys like this idea maybe try and think of some game modes which would be fun in Skywars, im gonna start thinking abiut some myself aswell :DPosted on 26 July 2015 - 11:35 PM

You should have a ranking system like Levels and "Elo" from pot pvp you gain elo from kills and more elo for wins once you are a certain level of elo you can do /rankup and it ranks you up to the next level it also unlocks the next levels kits.Posted on 28 July 2015 - 03:36 AM

A way of preventing camping could be kind of a border shrink as UHC but with islands. In a 64 players map, there'd be 64 islands (starter), then 32 islands closer to the centre, then 16 , 8, and finally 1 which would be the centre and where the final fight could take place. After x time you are not allowed to be in the first 64, after x in the 32 and so on. You'd also have to include a border to stop people from bridging back. I see ups and dows with this system, but with some discussion we may be able to optimize it.
About kits, i personally like cubecraft's way. Everyone starts with nothing unless you choose a kit. There are free kits that you have access to from the very beginning, but in order to get the rest, you need points. You get these points by killing people and winning games, at least when i played it was this way, could of changed. The more you play, the more points you have, the better kits you have. (Donators could get point multipliers)
In addition to this, i'd make these few free kits change every week, just like the heroes you have access to without paying in games like HotS, i believe it will be better for everyone plus you can actually test kits before buying one. We'd have to discuss how kits are though, i remember back when i played skywars everyone got the tank kit (full iron armor) because it clearly outweighed the others, we should avoid that.
Someone mentioned overpowered players should play on different games, i hate that idea. We could on the other hand make skywars gamemodes, you'd choose by voting. There could be 3 or 4, easy, normal, hard and overpowered. In cubecraft these would affect chests' loot, but i believe it should also change kits. Builder kit (16 blocks iirc) in an overpowered game (there were punch III bows and arrows in the chests so you'd shoot people off in 3 seconds) was pointless ._. So kits in easy would be different from normal kits, hard kits and op kits. Everyone would be able to have the experience everyone is able to have, that's the point.
I'm looking forward to this, can see some skywars tourneys taking place :o. Hype!

I really like some of the ideas here. Especially with the idea of having various free kits that change every few weeks. We would have to try to come up with a good 10 diff styles of kits and then rotate and have 2 available here and there.
The border shrinking would need some work, but with good map builds it would definitely be possible.
Interesting idea on just having different tiers of kits for different game modes. I like the idea of this also.

-Stats:
Making /stats command showing you your kills, deaths, wins, loses, and your points is very good idea since so many players care about their stats and would like to see them in-game rather than going to their profile.
-Teams/ffa:
Putting teams will get you many players since there are a lot of players who team in this game, so you can make the 16 map player (2 players on one team so it will be 2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2 or 8v8 or ffa, and players can choose their teammates like using /party invite)
-kits:
kits is common idea on all servers, you can add kits but into 2 categories the free kits for donor either loin or normal donator cause if the server is pay to win then no one will like it, by the way kits for group donators will be the same as the non donors but the difference is that the donors get this kits for free and the non donors have to pay game coins so everyone can play with kits, and it is better that the kits only give slight advantages in the normal mod and a good advantage in the OP mod.
-Signs:
Sign are better than ender portal since you can know which map you will play or you can know how many players left and stuff like these.

I would like to have both systems for XP/ELO. One to show who has no life, and one to show who performs the best. I feel that both are essential for players who aim towards each side of the tree.
We will definitely have teams/ffa, and teaming in FFA will be illegal as it is in other game modes.
I'm really not sure what we want to do about the Donator kit idea, I think we want to leave it towards multipliers, maybe we will give access to all of the starter kits to the Donators and then non-Donators have to use whichever ones are free that week. Keep in mind all of the starter kits will be relatively the same in strength. No idea on this one still.
As far as signs go I like the idea of our inventory system already, but maybe we will do signs for this game mode instead. It might make more sense and it's kind of easier to see more things at once.

What are people's thoughts of random events happening in some sky wars games?E.g. a bunch of explosions where certain islands blow up and become rubble or suddenly everyone has speed potion applied etc.
Trying to create some variety so that it's not the same thing each game all the time (like 1/100 games would have a random event). You won't know before joining.

This would be fun. Let's say in one event after a period of time, tnt starts to spawn. Which stops players from camping in their island for the whole game. Then another one could be mobs spawn at mid over a short period of time.
So hyped for this :P

I would like there to be an op skywars and non-op skywars, /sw party could be something like you invite your friends and pick what map you would like to play on and not get just a random map. I think there should be some type of queue for that, or something that shows when that map will be ran next. /sw is something that maybe you could do 5v5 red rovers in skywars that would be amazing. Maybe some type of DM where you spawn in an arena, for people that are camping their islands, they spawn in an arena with no armour grace period 30 seconds to a minute, and there are tons of chests you get shit from, and you fight when the grace period is over. Skywars in UHC mode! I think that can maybe add some different spice that other servers haven't used yet. In the teams of 5 skywars it's a game to see how many kills you get. Maybe making skywars much more into a skill and strategy game it may make it 'cooler'. That's what I think if someone has a argument please say it I'm open to different things.
